MAISON FAMILIALE EN TANZANIE
PROGRAMME : Maison pour la famille Jorejick
LIEU : Getamock, dans le District de Karatu, Tanzanie
MO : Archstorming
DATE : 2020
The project develops an answer to the lack of affordable housing in several African countries. It will first improve the Jorejick family’s quality of life in Karatu District, north of Tanzania.
The project focuses on providing them one roof:
One roof above a courtyard where they can gather, play, and discuss.
One roof where they can perform daily tasks, sleep, eat, drink, wash, and study.
One roof easily built by families, volunteers, local builders, and craftsmen.
One roof where the family is sheltered from the rain and solar radiation.
The house’s design is modular and allows for the flexibility and efficiency to cater different family sizes.
The house will use affordable and local materials: stone foundations, compressed earth blocks (CEB) walls, wooden roof structure and steel roof.
The house’s design includes natural ventilation, rainwater harvesting, water treatment and wastewater management.
One roof for a better life.
